Based on our founding principles, we aim to foster a multicultural society and cultivate individuals capable of contributing to society.

<Educational Purpose>
We provide the necessary Japanese language education and support to international students who aspire to pursue specialized studies at universities or vocational schools and achieve self-realization.

Eligibility Requirements for a Student Visa

  1.  Completion of at least 12 years of formal education (the required period may vary by country) or an equivalent curriculum abroad. (Applicants who wish to enter a university in Japan must have completed 12 years of school education.)
  2.  Possession of the Japanese language proficiency required for the intended course, and the ability to submit a certificate of passing a recognized Japanese language examination or proof of Japanese language study.
  3.  Having a relative in the applicant’s home country or in Japan who possesses sufficient financial resources to cover all academic and living expenses during the applicant’s stay in Japan.
  4. Having a clear academic purpose and being in good physical and mental health.

Selection Process

Document screening and an interview (online interviews are available).

*If the following documents are not included in the application, an online Japanese proficiency test corresponding to the level of the specific course will be administered prior to the interview:

2-Year / 1-Year and 9-Month Academic Japanese Courses:
Certificate of passing a Japanese proficiency test equivalent to A1 level under the ‘Reference Framework for Japanese Language Education’ or proof certificate of Japanese language study at a Japanese language educational institution (approx. 150 hours or more).
1-Year and 6-Month Academic Japanese Course: Certificate of passing a Japanese proficiency test equivalent to A1 level under the ‘Reference Framework for Japanese Language Education’.
1-Year and 3-Month Academic Japanese Course:Certificate of passing a Japanese proficiency test equivalent to A2 level under the ‘Reference Framework for Japanese Language Education’.
1-Year Academic Japanese Course: Certificate of passing a Japanese proficiency test equivalent to B1 level under the ‘Reference Framework for Japanese Language Education’.

Scholarships

JASSO (Japan Student Services Organization)

JASSO offers scholarship for international students enrolled in a Japanese language institution and are planning to go to a higher education such as universities, colleges, or vocational schools in Japan. The scholarship recipient must be excellent in their school and humanity and meet the five following conditions. ※The students are screened before being granted scholarships.

  1. Students who are excellent (including percentage of attendance and other extra curricular activities) in every Japanese language institution.
  2. Students who are getting an average remittance of less than 90,000 yen per month from their home country (excluding entrance fee and tuition fee).
  3. If you have received other scholarships, that payments of scholarship should be less than the amount of the following learning scholarship.
  4. Students whose sponsor’s income is less than 5,000,000 yen per year.
  5. Students who get scholarship should enter to the universities after the completion of the Japanese Language school

Scholarship amount per month: 30,000 yen (360,000 yen per year)

Monbukagakusho(MEXT) Honors Scholarship for International Students

This scholarship is awarded to privately financed international students enrolled in Japanese language educational institutions who aim to advance to a university, graduate school, junior college, or vocational school in Japan, and who demonstrate outstanding academic performance and character but face financial difficulties in pursuing their studies.
Scholarship amount: 30,000 yen per month(360,000 yen per year)

Perfect Attendance Reward

TWJLS grants the perfect attendance reward to students with no tardiness or absence from class. There is no limit on the number of awarded people.

Reward amount per three months: 3,000 yen

Beginner Level User

A1

Can understand and use common everyday expressions and basic phrases to satisfy specific needs. Can engage in simple communication if the other person speaks slowly and clearly and offers assistance.

A2

Can understand commonly used sentences and expressions related to familiar areas, such as very basic personal and family information, shopping, the neighborhood, and work. Can exchange information on familiar, everyday matters within a simple, routine situations.

Independent User

B1

Can understand the main points when familiar topics such as work, school, and leisure are discussed in standard Japanese. Can produce coherent texts using simple expressions on familiar topics of personal interest.

B2

Can understand the main content of complex texts on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in one’s own field of expertise. Can communicate fluently and naturally enough to interact with proficient Japanese speakers without feeling nervous.
